Where in Italy should I have my destination wedding?

Italy is an astonishing place. It hosts some of the most romantic cities in the world, such as Venice, Rome and Florence, and it’s full of secret gems for those who prefer less mainstream magic. The Ladies of the Rings’ target areas are two charming regions, which are still to be discovered by most of the tour operators.

One of them is Emilia Romagna: the cradle of the Motor Valley, in which Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and Ducati have their headquarters. Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, Parma ham, Modena balsamic vinegar are all born and produced here. Towns and countryside in Emilia Romagna are rich in medieval and renaissance castles and palaces, and people’s hospitality is unique and will make you feel at home.

The other region we call home is Friuli Venezia Giulia, an exotic northern area with golden beaches, picturesque canals, gentle hills and rising mountains. The Alps provide scenic mountains, and the valleys slope gently down to the coastline on the Adriatic sea. Friuli-Venezia Giulia Coffee culture is strong and highly influenced by the Viennese tradition. Friuli Venezia Giulia’s great grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are triggering a re-emergence of the local wines on the global scene.

Do I need a wedding planner even though I can book everything on the internet?

Yes: a wedding planner is highly recommended. Even though everything can be booked in advance and you might even find top quality vendors, you still need someone to coordinate and supervise the whole event. Your family and you deserve to enjoy the wedding to the fullest, rather than spending your time directing, checking schedules and solving whatever inconvenience may occur.

Another good reason to hire a wedding planner is the language: unless you are fluent in Italian and regional dialects, communication with all professionals involved might be challenging.

When should I start planning my wedding in Italy?

Especially for a high season wedding, we highly suggest that you contact us at least 6 – 8 months in advance. That will give us the time to truly accommodate your wishes to the tiniest detail. At the same time, no worries: we have great experience with ‘I-just-can’t-wait-to-marry-him/her’ situations. We are aware that Italy’s beauty tends to trigger such spontaneous stories.

Any tips to make it as affordable as possible?

Italian couples’ high season for weddings goes May to September, mainly on Saturdays and Sundays. Most of the wedding venues have different fees depending on month and day: if you chose a  Wednesday in October you’ll probably get a lower price for the same venue. There are caterers who offer lower prices for less popular dates as well. Winter time weddings, however, might not be as cheap despite the low season, because of heating costs.

Why hire The Ladies of the Rings for my wedding?

The Ladies of the Rings are wedding planning pioneers in Italy.

Throughout the planning process and wedding day, we give our clients such quality service and emotional support, that they become like family to us and we to them. Most couples we marry want us back for their baby’s baptism, their parents’ golden wedding anniversary; their siblings’ round numbers birthdays, etc. That’s how much we care.

Can you manage weddings all over Italy?

Yes!

What is the average cost for a wedding in Italy?

The answer is: ‘It depends!’. First of all, it depends on the number of guests you are inviting and if you add your guests’ lodging expenses into your budget. It also depends on what kind of wedding you desire and which suppliers you choose: venue and catering are the most decisive cost-wise; flowers, music, photographers and video-makers can also make a difference.

The good news is that, if you are eligible for or willing to have a catholic ceremony, the function in a catholic church is going to be free: you will only be required to make a donation as a thank you to the priest’s celebration.
